Accor Loyalty Program: From Accor Plus to ALL Accor+ Explorer
What changed? And is it worth buying it anymore?
Accor is the group behind some of the world’s most popular hotels from ultra-luxury names like Raffles, Fairmont, and Sofitel, to midscale favourites like Novotel and Mercure, and even everyday stays like ibis. With over 5,000 hotels in 110+ countries, it’s one of the biggest names in global hospitality.
To reward travellers, Accor runs a free loyalty program called ALL – Accor Live Limitless. Every time you stay, dine, or even book an experience through Accor, you earn points that can be redeemed for free nights, upgrades, or discounts. Members also get small but meaningful perks like member-only rates, early check-in, late check-out, complimentary room upgrades, or free breakfast depending on the hotel. It’s completely free to join and adds real value if you travel even a few times a year.
For frequent travellers, there’s also a paid premium tier until now known as Accor Plus that has been hugely popular in Asia. It offered one free night every year, 50% off dining at Accor restaurants, and access to exclusive stay offers. But from October 1, 2025, this tier is being rebranded and upgraded to ALL Accor+ Explorer.
This change isn’t just cosmetic, the entire membership structure is being reworked with some solid upgrades, a few cutbacks, and a new focus on global consistency and value. In simple terms, if you’ve ever thought of joining or renewing Accor Plus, the rules are changing and it’s worth knowing what’s now better, what’s reduced, and how the overall value stacks up in real life.
Let’s break it down and see what it really means for you with side-by-side comparisons and clear examples.
Key Changes Breakdown
1. Stay Plus Free Night Benefit - Changes to Stay Plus 2 Free Nights Benefit but with a condition.
Before (Accor Plus):
1 free night per year
No minimum stay requirement
Could be used standalone
Now (ALL Accor+ Explorer):
2 free nights per year (sounds better, but...)
Requires minimum 2-night stay (1 paid + 1 free)
Must book additional paid nights with cash and not points
What This Means: Previously, you could book a single free night anywhere in participating hotels. Now, you must commit to at least a 2-night stay and pay for one night to get one free. This significantly reduces flexibility and increases your out-of-pocket costs.
However you can book for 4 continuous nights in 2 bookings, so on a 50k/night hotel this is easily 1 Lac rupee worth benefit in 19.5k membership. Already 5x benefit.
Example:
Old system: Book 1 free night in Tokyo, total cost: Rs 0
New system: Book 2 nights in Tokyo (1 paid + 1 free), total cost: Rs 50k+ for the paid night and 50k worth night got free.
According to me it is totally worth it, Use Axis Atlas to get 20% Accor points back on the paid night in Accor for double dipping.
2. Dining Benefits - Simplified but Reduced Flexibility
Before (Accor Plus):
Sliding discount scale: 25% for 1 Diner, 50% for 2 diners, 33% for 3 diners, 25% 4 diners, etc. (Divide 100 by member count and get the discount %)
15% beverage discount in Asia only
Multiple membership cards could be used per table in Pacific region (Australia, New Zealand, Fiji)
Maximum total discount per table capped at 50%
Required minimum 4 people at table to use 2 cards
Now (ALL Accor+ Explorer):
Flat 30% food discount (up to 10 people)
15% beverage discount (up to 10 people) - now expanded to Asia Pacific region instead of limited Asia region earlier
10% discount for groups of 11-20 people
Only one membership card per table can be used globally
What This Means: In the Pacific region (Australia, New Zealand, Fiji), if you were dining with other Accor Plus members, you could present multiple membership cards at the same table to potentially get better discounts, with the total discount capped at 50%. However, you needed at least 4 people at the table to use 2 cards. This was a significant advantage when dining with other members but not anymore with new Accor+ Explorer.
For couples, this is actually a downgrade (30% vs 50%). For larger groups (3-10 people), it's an improvement. The beverage discount expansion to the Pacific region is positive, but the loss of multiple card stacking removes a valuable benefit for groups of Accor Plus members dining together.
Example:
Couple dining (old): Rs 5k meal = Rs2.5k after 50% discount
Couple dining (new):Rs 5k meal = Rs 3.5k after 30% discount
4 Accor Plus members dining in Australia (old): Rs 10k meal = Rs 5k after using 2 cards for 50% total discount
4 ALL Accor+ Explorer members dining (new):* Rs 10k meal = Rs 7k after 30% discount (only 1 card allowed)
Family of 6 (old): Rs 10k meal = Rs 8.33k after ~16.7% discount
Family of 6 (new): Rs 10k meal = Rs 7k after 30% discount
According to me it is a major loss for couples however a 2nd free night will cover for this downgrade. If you dine at ACCOR hotels frequently then this still can save 50k for you in a year.
3. Stay Benefits - Improved Discount, Reduced Flexibility
Before (Accor Plus):
10% off public rates in Asia Pacific
Could combine with promotional offers
Could stack with ALL Member Rate for additional 5% discount (total 15%)
Now (ALL Accor+ Explorer):
15% off best available rates globally (major improvement)
Cannot combine with promotional offers or ALL Member rates
Global coverage (not just Asia Pacific)
What This Means: Higher base discount (15% vs 10%) and global coverage are excellent improvements. However, losing the ability to stack discounts means you might miss out on better deals during sales or promotions.
Examples of Stackable Offers (Old System):
Flash Sales: Up to 40% off flash sale + 10% Accor Plus discount
End of Year Sale: Up to 20% off End of Year promotion + 10% Accor Plus discount + 5% ALL Member Rate = total 35% off
Member Private Sales: Up to 20% off regional promotions + Accor Plus discounts
Family Packages: 50% off second room family deals + Accor Plus member rate
Real Example:
Sydney hotel during End of Year sale (old): Rs 10k/night → 20% promo discount = Rs 8k/night → 10% Accor Plus = Rs 7.2k/night → 5% ALL Member = Rs 6.9k/night
Same hotel with ALL Accor+ Explorer (new): Rs 10k/night → 15% discount only = Rs 8.5k/night (cannot stack with promotional 20% off)
However this is extreme example and it is still beneficial for buyers.
4. Status Benefits - Significant Upgrade
Before (Accor Plus):
Automatic Silver status in ALL program
20 bonus status nights upon joining/renewal
Now (ALL Accor+ Explorer):
Automatic Gold status in ALL program
30 bonus status nights upon joining/renewal
Status nights are capped at 30 across all Accor+ memberships
What This Means: This is a a major upgrade. Gold status provides significantly better perks compared to Silver status.
Silver Status Benefits:
Free welcome drink at participating hotels
Priority check-in (when available)
10% bonus on reward points earned during stays
Free WiFi (standard at all levels)
Gold Status Benefits (includes all Silver benefits plus):
Room upgrades to next category (subject to availability)
Early check-in OR late check-out until 2PM (subject to availability)
48% bonus on reward points (vs 10% for Silver)
Guaranteed room availability (excluding blackout dates)
Welcome gift at select hotel brands
Cannot stack Accor China and other membership nights on your Indian membership to become Platinum member anymore.
The Gold Upgrade Impact: The jump from Silver to Gold is substantial. Room upgrades alone can provide Rs 10k to 30k+ value per night, while the guaranteed availability and flexible check-in/out times offer practical benefits for business travellers.
5. Pricing - It’s not a good news for India
On 1 October 2025, existing memberships seamlessly upgrade to ALL Accor+ Explorer at no extra cost
Before (Accor Plus):
In India: Current price is Rs 16,500
In Australia: Current price $399/year
In Singapore: $299/year for standalone membership
Payment option in points: 12,000 ALL points (approximately €240/~$260 USD)
Now (ALL Accor+ Explorer):
In India: Current price is Rs 19,500 - - Price increased by Rs 3000
In Australia: $349 AUD (~$230 USD) - Price reduction from $399
In Singapore: $299 SGD (~$220 USD)
Other Asian markets: Pricing varies by country
Nominal changes so go for it.
Summary
1. Geographic Coverage Changes
Beverage Benefits
Before: Asia only (excluded Australia, New Zealand, Pacific islands)
Now: Asia AND Pacific (includes Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, etc.)
Stay Benefits
Before: Asia Pacific region only for discounts
Now: Global coverage (4,500+ hotels across 27+ brands worldwide)
2. New Automatic Renewal System
Both programs now feature automatic renewal:
Membership auto-renews unless you turn off the "SUBSCRIPTION RENEWAL" toggle
Must cancel at least 2 days before renewal date
30-day notice for material changes to terms
3. Financial Impact Analysis
For Frequent Solo/Couple Travellers:
Dining discount reduced from 50% to 30%
Stay Plus benefit requires additional paid nights
For Family/Group Travellers:
Better dining discounts for groups of 3+
Higher stay discount (15% vs 10%)
Global coverage provides more opportunities
For Business Travellers:
Global coverage is excellent for international travel
Higher stay discount beneficial
Loss of promotional stacking could be costly during corporate travel seasons
4. Strategic Recommendations
If You're Renewing:
Calculate your usage pattern: Track how often you dine alone vs. in groups
Evaluate Stay Plus value: Can you commit to 2-night minimum stays?
Consider global vs. regional travel: New global coverage might justify the changes
If You're New to the Program:
Best for: Families, groups, and global travelers
Consider alternatives for: Solo travelers who valued the old Stay Plus flexibility
5. Timing Considerations
Current Accor Plus members can still renew under old terms until their membership expires
New members after October 1, 2025, automatically get ALL Accor+ Explorer terms
Bottom Line
These changes represent a clear strategic shift by Accor:
Focus on group/family travel rather than solo travellers
Encourage longer stays through minimum night requirements
Global expansion of benefits
Premium positioning with Gold status inclusion
The changes are substantial enough that existing members should carefully evaluate whether the new program structure aligns with their travel patterns before their next renewal.
